Final Update: Ten Mile House is now open and we had a chance to check it out, so here is my full review of what we ate, and I’m sure there will be updates each time we go back and try something new.
It looks like the new Central Station apartment building is finally getting some activity in the first-floor retail space. Coldwell Banker is moving their offices into a section of the space, but it looks like a restaurant is going in soon as well!
There were articles about a month ago that mentioned a restaurant called “The Wood Shed”, a wood-fired pizza place with 120-seats inside and about 50 outside. However, walking passed Central Station this week, there is a new sign in the window that indicates that maybe the name of the restaurant may have changed to “Ten Mile House”
It looks like “Ten Mile House” is just a rebranding of “The Wood Shed”, but I’m not sure. The sign in the window lists wood-fired pizza, wood-roasted vegetables, craft beer, farm fresh salads, and smoked meats… so it definitely sounds like the same place mentioned in articles from last month. They do still have an active website (http://www.eatwoodshed.com/) that says “The Wood Shed” is coming soon, so we’ll see what happens when it actually starts making progress.
Update – Looks like they have a website, http://www.tmhevanston.com/. It doesn’t say anything other than “Coming Soon” at the moment. I also found what appears to be their newly started Facebook Page.
Update 2 – Looks like Ten Mile House is shooting for an early November 2014 opening. A comment on their Facebook page more specifically mentions November 1st, but we’ll see. From what I can see in the windows, they are definitely making progress.
Update 3 – Official opening dates have been announced. A soft opening will happen on November 8th with the official grand opening on November 17th. Can’t wait to try it out! And of course, here’s a link to their menu.
