Named after Dagwood from the Blondie comic strip, The Dagwood Challenge is a massive sandwich that is one of the biggest cold cut sandwiches I’ve ever seen in my life. I have no doubt in my mind that there is no way all this food could fit in my tiny little stomach, but for those of you that think you can handle the challenge, check out The Dagwood next time you’re in Ohio and let us know how you fare!
The Dagwood Challenge
- The Dagwood sandwich consists of 21 oz of cold cut meats (7 oz of turkey, 7 oz of roast beef and 7 oz of ham), cheese and mayo on french bread along side a pile of french fries.
Food Challenge Rules/Prizes
- 1 Person
- Time Limit: 30 Minutes
- Prize: If completed you receive your picture on the Wall of Fame along with a free T-shirt that says “I devoured The Dagwood”. If you lose you receive a T-Shirt that says ” The Dagwood Kicked My !**”
- Rules: It would appear that the time limit is the only rule, but make sure to check with the restaurant before attempting this challenge.

I am sad to report the back in 2014 the Ohio Deli and Restaurant burn to the ground. they still have not rebuilt according to their Facebook page.
oh man, sorry to hear that. Thanks for the update though.
They are permanently out of business. A Hardees is at this address now. The cleanup cost too much and the husband and wife also got a divorce soon after.
