It’s no secret that the adult beverage world has been taken over by hard seltzers. It seems that people everywhere are putting down their cocktails and, in some cases beer, and picking up this new fad drink this summer, but with these new drinks comes a new problem… thin cans.
The thinner cans that you find with drinks like White Claw and Truly present a problem when trying to find a koozie to use to keep your drink cold on those hot summer days. Since the cans are much thinner than a traditional 12 ounce can, most of the koozies out there won’t properly hold the can in order to keep it as cold as possible.
Sure, you can still use the can koozies from brands like Yeti and RTIC, as the thinner can will stay within the confines of the koozie itself, however, since the can is much taller, there is a lot more aluminum exposed to the elements, which can cause your can to get hotter faster than you would like. Also, because of the thinner can, it will wiggle around inside of the koozie, which can be a little annoying.
And forget about trying to use a normal 12 ounce can neoprene koozie on a White Claw… the koozie is just way too wide for it to even work.
But never fear, with these new slim cans comes a new line of slim koozies that will fit perfectly on your next White Claw or Truly hard seltzer.
Can Koozies for White Claw and Truly Hard Seltzers
Double-Wall Insulated Koozies
BruMate Hopsulator
The BruMate Hopsulator koozie is probably your best option right now in terms of keep-cold koozies for your slim cans. Unfortunately Yeti and RTIC have not released slim can version of their popular koozies (although I have to imagine they are in the works), so the BruMate koozie is pretty much your only solid option if you’re looking for a double-wall insulated stainless steel koozie. It functions exactly the same way as those other brands and will definitely keep your White Claw ice cold throughout a nice hot summer day. And since it’s designed specifically for slim cans, the hard seltzer cans fit perfectly in the koozie with no wiggle room and barely any aluminum exposed at the top.
The Hopsulator does differ a bit from those other stainless steel can koozies in that it does not have a screw-on top seal like you find on the Yeti and RTIC. You simple push your can into the koozie and it fits snug enough to make a proper seal to keep everything nice and cold. This is a pretty nice feature because I know I sometimes have a hard time screwing the seal back on to the top of my other koozies when swapping out cans. I’m not sure if it’s just a slight difference in can size/shape, or wearing down of the koozie top or what. It’s not a huge annoyance, but it’s nice to just be able to slam your drink down into the koozie and not have to worry about a 2nd part.
The other nice thing about the BruMate Hopsulator is that it comes in a crazy amount of colors. Personally I’m totally fine with the traditional stainless steel look, but with White Claw and Truly being extremely popular among females this summer, the variety of colors is a great way to show of your style while drinking. They even have a few glitter color options which will definitely stand out in the crowd.
So if you’ve ever mumbled that ridiculous saying, that I’m already extremely sick of, “There ain’t no laws, when you’re drinking claws”, then these koozies are exactly what you need to ensure that your hard seltzer stays cold on those hot summer days. It’s also a great way to hide what you’re actually drinking… you know, if you’re drinking at a softball game, or at the beach or something… but you didn’t hear that from us.

Yeti Rambler 12 oz. Slim Can Koozie
Since originally writing and publishing this article, Yeti has dropped their 12 oz. slim can koozie, which is perfect for hard seltzers. We all know that Yeti was going to drop one of these slim koozies eventually, it was just a matter of when… and it looks like the wait is now over.
It’s basically exactly the same as their normal can koozies, but in a slim form factor to fit the slim cans. It has the removable hard rubber gasket top that locks over the top of the can to keep everything nice and snug. It also has their traditional double-wall insulated stainless steel design, which will keep your beverage extremely cold up until the last sip.
In terms of how it compares to the BruMate Hopsulator above, it’s basically the same thing. They are both developed in the same way, they both come in a variety of different colors, and they are both a bit more expensive than the other options below… with Yeti’s coming in at a few bucks more than the BruMate in most cases.
I just wanted to make sure I got the Yeti Slim Can Koozie up here as soon as possible so that you knew it was available. Personally, I would probably just save a few bucks and go with the BruMate above, only because the functionality of the two are pretty much identical, and while Yeti does have a few color options, BruMate has a lot more (click the links for all the color options). But, I know some people are just fans of Yeti in general, so if you were looking to add another koozie to your Yeti collection, you can now keep those White Claws and Trulys super cold this summer (if we’re ever able to leave our houses).
- The YETI Slim Colster is good for: 12 oz Slim Cans, Spiked Seltzers, Canned Vino, Cabin Weekends and Beach Days. Can and bottle fit may vary based on shape
- The Load-and-Lock gasket only requires a simple quarter-turn to seal the deal
Arktos Slim Can Cooler
I don’t know much about the Arktos slim can cooler, but with the Yeti and the BruMate slim koozies above selling out extremely fast this summer I figured I’d give you guys another option in the stainless steel, double-wall insulated space.
This one seems a lot like the Thermos stainless steel koozie that I checked out a few years back for regular size cans. I don’t remember that one being the best quality when compared to the Yeti’s, but it’s a much better than the neoprene options below.
So if you’re looking for another option, when the ones above are sold out, this could be a solid third choice.
- Slim 12oz Cans: This will fit various 12oz slim cans. Beer, Hard selter water, seltzer water, sodas, energy drinks, etc.
- Insulating: Keeps drinks cold in all environments, keeps condensation off of the can allowing for longer periods of cold drinks.
Other White Claw Slim Can Koozie Options
If you’re not looking for a hard, stainless steel, koozie for your slim cans, there are definitely other options out there for you.
If you’re looking for something cheap and easy that you can just throw in your beach bag, on your boat, or just carry with you while you’re out, then a simple neoprene koozie is probably the way to go. There are plenty of options out there for neoprene koozies that are specifically designed for the slim cans like White Claw and Truly. You definitely don’t want to use a traditional 12 ounce can koozie for these slim cans, like we mentioned above, because they will just fall right out and they won’t keep your drink cold.
- Fits 12oz SLIM cans. Premium neoprene can sleeves. (6-Pack)
- Perfect for sublimation, heat transfer, screen printing, and fabric markers.
Keep in mind though, the neoprene koozies do not do a very good job of keeping your drinks cold on a really hot summer day. We’ve tested neoprene koozies vs stainless steel koozies previously and the rise in temperature of your drink comes on a hell of a lot faster when using just a neoprene koozie. This may not be a problem depending on how fast you intend to drink your beverage, but if you like to take your time drinking, then you’ll want to look into a better option.
Now, there is an option that kind of falls in between the neoprene koozie and the stainless steel koozie, and that is this 22below Slim koozie. It’s made of a rubber/silicone type material that wraps around the can nicely.
I have not had a chance to actually test this option so I can’t promise you that it will keep your drink cold longer than a neoprene koozie, but I can definitely promise you that it will not work as well as the stainless steel one. There’s just no comparison.
- FITS Slim 12 oz cans such as: Mich Ultra | Truly | White Claw | Henry's Hard | Corona Light | Red Bull | Celsius
- SOFT & FLEXIBLE: Your can sitting in a cloud.
Personally, I would just spend the extra few bucks and get yourself the BruMate koozie, but if you’re looking for something a little better than the traditional neoprene one to throw in your bag for random occasions, then this might be a solid option.
Which Is the Best Koozie for Slim Cans?
I think it’s pretty obvious from what you’ve read above, and just based on common sense, but the best koozie for those White Claws and Truly’s is definitely a double-wall insulated, stainless steel one, like the BruMate Hopuslator. It will keep your beverage coldest for the longest amount of time, it won’t sweat through to your hand, it’s one solid piece so there’s nothing to lose, and it’s made of quality materials that should hold up for many summers to come.
With White Claw, Truly and other hard seltzers making huge waves this summer, I think we’re going to start seeing a lot more of these specialty drinks coming out in the future, and the slimmer can might become the norm for these types of drinks.
So if you want to ensure a cold, refreshing liquid with every sip, then I can’t recommend picking up a koozie enough. They are a game changer on hot summer days.
I love Brumate. I found them where you can get them personalized too. Best product I have bought in a while. I will leave the website where I got mine custom made. I agree 100% with your article.
Hi, Love your reviews – They have been quite helpful! I used to be solely loyal to YETI until i discovered brumate.. now I play both sides, hah. I have a few brumates now, including the one you listed. Not sure if you’ve seen it yet, but I just got their “hopsulator trio” ($24.99) which not only fits both slim cans and regular cans, but also comes with a closing lid so you can use it for coffee/ mixed drinks/etc.. it’s my new favorite, for 3+ reasons! 🙂
