Azzip Pizza Terre Haute

azzip pizza

It’s no secret that I’m not a huge fan of Chicago’s deep dish style pizza, even though I’ve lived here my entire life. I’ll even take it so far as to say that out of all the deep dish pizzas in the city, my least favorite is Lou Malnati’s, despite that being almost every else’s favorite.

To me, there’s nothing better than a piece of thin crust pizza, and it doesn’t even have to be from Chicago. I’m a fan of New York thin crust pizza, and I’m also a huge fan of St.Louis style thin crust pizza like Imo’s that uses cracker thin crust and provel cheese. So it’s probably no surprise that I really enjoyed the pizza from Azzip Pizza in Terre Haute Indiana when we were there a couple months back.

Azzip Pizza

Azzip Pizza is a fast-casual type pizza place similar to the Blaze Pizza we have in the Chicagoland area. You go up, order the type of sauce you want, the meat toppings you want, then the vegetable toppings you want, then they throw it in the pizza oven. After a few minutes your pizza is fully cooked and ready to eat.

I honestly don’t know what made me like this pizza so much because I’ve had Blaze Pizza before and thought it was just ok, but with the Azzip pizza, I literally ate the entire thing in one sitting, which is rare for me… even with a small pizza.

The crust was super thin, like I like, the sauce was sweet, but not too sweet like D’agostino’s, the cheese was, well… cheese, but it was good none the less, and the pepperonis were spicy, but not too spicy… It was just a perfect storm of a thin crust pizza, and I’m kind of sad that I will never be going back to Terre Haute Indiana to try it again.

They do have other locations throughout Indiana, as well as one in Illinois and Kentucky, but since my in-laws no longer live in Indiana, I’m not sure when the next time I’ll be back that way will be… oh well.

So if you’re looking for a decent fast-casual pizza in Indiana, and you enjoy thin crust, I would definitely check out Azzip Pizza. The ingredients were delicious and the sauce really pulls everything together.

This was a pretty pointless post, but I can’t stop thinking about that pizza so I figured I had to write about it. I didn’t even have a chance to take a picture of it for the site because I ate it too quickly… so the image above was borrowed from the Azzip Pizza website, check them out!
